The Heat at My Parent’s Place

My siblings and I learned not to ask our parents about the heat. Sometimes it felt like the   heat was never on. We learned to dress warmer and take care of ourselves. Great cooks came from lack of heat.

Philippians 4:19

I’m not the worst cook but I finally learned to. Everyone was getting older and moving out. Ryan went to college. Audrey got her own place. I’m still trying to figure things out. They all learned to cook before they left. Everyone’s a great cook but me. I steam vegetables and make oatmeal with nothing in it cause I want to be as healthy as I can be.

Philippians 4:19 says God will supply all our needs. Why didn’t he just turn on the heat. How come my parents didn’t pray a magic prayer to warm us? Was this God’s way of training us to take care of ourselves?
